Greenacres Summer Exhibition, 28th May – 31st July 2022 – I’m delighted to be invited to exhibit in the wonderful Greenacres Gallery in Wexford as part of their summer exhibition. This series of paintings is of winter trees, inspired by a winter walks in Abbotstown, quite close to where I live.

March 2022 – Ukraine Fundraiser – Rush, Co. Dublin

“Clearing Rain” – This painting is being exhibited along with many others in a fund-raising exhibition for the people of Ukraine, who’ve been savagely attacked by Russian military forces. More exhibition details to follow.

Revisiting bogs for inspiration. I did an oil painting of this scene about ten years ago, and I was never happy with the end result. So I’ve painted a pastel of the same composition. the heavily textured randomly primed surface has enhanced the pastel marks on the paper.

Mostly winter themed work, paintings of skeletal trees and rain washed towns in rural Ireland are keeping me busy at the moment.

November 2021

“November Rain, Thurles” won second place in The Pastel Guild of Europe’s September “Get Dusty” competition, where ‘weather’ was the theme. Many thanks to adjudicator Bruce Gomez PSA, whose comments are in the posted image below.
